Our mission, “Inspiring young minds to make mindful choices for what they eat”, was created in 2015 and still remains true today. Feed Our Future is laser-focused on connecting schools, homes, and communities by providing the necessary and practical information about sourcing, eating, and promoting local foods that nourish young students. And if we work together and do our jobs right, ALL children that we serve will have access to healthy, local foods at their schools one day.
It has come to our attention that a recent news story has been published in The New York Times, regarding a massive fraud scheme involving an organization called “Feeding Our Future.” This organization is based in Minnesota and served as a sponsor of federally funded food programs.
We want to make it clear that we are in no way associated with Feeding Our Future or any of its partners. Based in Cleveland, OH, we work side by side with school and community partners regionally to develop turnkey solutions that
- Support local food purchasing
- Recognize the cafeteria as an extension of the classroom, and
- Create the conditions for school-aged children to learn about and engage with the local food system at their school through gardening and other experiential learning activities.
We do not directly provide meals to children, but instead invest in the partnerships necessary to spark change within the systems that govern these programs. To achieve this change, we leverage several local, state, and federal funding opportunities to create these opportunities for children.
