Farm to School Program Produces Results in South Euclid Lyndhurst School District
In response to changing demographics and rising childhood obesity, the South Euclid Lyndhurst School District led the pack to become the first district in Cuyahoga County to implement a Farm to School program. Pairing with Kinsman, Ohio’s Red Basket Farm, the school was able to get more local fruits and veggies on kids’ plates while increasing revenue to the local economy. As a result, more kids ate the school meals, the school saw no increase in costs and the program expanded the following year.
